COMING IN 2007: THE SUMEI INTERACTIVE GALLERY

WELCOME TO THE ONLINE HOME OF THE SUMEI MULTIDISIPLINARY ARTS CENTER!!

Sumei Multidisciplinary Arts Center is a nonprofit organization
located in downtown Newark. It's mission is to provide
a space for artists of diverse backgrounds and disciplines to interact
with the local and statewide community through performance,
exhibition, and education, thus creating an exchange of
cultural ideas and practices.

A GALLERY IN TRANSITION
SUMEI is relocating! The Sumei Multidisiplinary Arts Center has been evicted by the City of Newark in order to provide a clear view of the NJ Devils Hockey Stadium. The stadium is being built in what was the only concentrated arts district in the City of Newark for the past 20 years. This area was also Newark Chinatown from 1875 to approx. 1970. Please call Sumei for information regarding our programs during this time of transition.
