After graduating at the DAMS (Departement of Art, Music and Performing Arts) of the University of Palermo, they moved to Barcelona, Spain where they got a Superior Masterclass in Digital Cinema from Estudiodecine, an independent production company & film school.
After several video artworks and film projects realized on their own, they debuted together with Youthquake, a film where teenage sexual discovery is told as a journey across real and imaginary spaces and times.
This reflection on the narrative possibilities belonging to mixing documentary and fiction genres went on in their last film In Bloom, in which the intimacy of a child's playing is observed with a naturalistic, almost realistic eye and, at the same time, is left to a surreal world of pure fantasy. They are currently working on a documentary about the city of Dongguan (China) and on a project for the Al Riwaq Art Space of Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. In these works they will weave together the languages of different artistic media: cinema, videoart, video installation, soundscapes. |
